Trenton and I took a trip to Paris this fall! It is our most favorite place in the world. The museums, the monuments, the Tower, and the food make it the perfect vacation spot for me and the hubs.
Trenton’s parents, his sister, and two of his aunts met us in Paris. We all stayed together in the same hotel and enjoyed trying new foods, catching up about everything we missed throughout the year, exploring the city, and making fun memories. This picture is from our Segway tour of Versaille- my favorite part of our trip! I laugh whenever I think back to it because everyone was having issues on their segways! Trenton even fell off his… lol.
The night Trenton’s family landed, we went straight to Laduree. They have incredible tea and desserts! Although I fear I steered everyone wrong, because I read online that they had the best hot chocolate in Paris.Consequently Trent’s mother and aunt ordered it. However, it is old-world hot chocolate, so it looks more like a melted chocolate bar that was not even hot! Woops- Sorry ya’ll. At least Trenton’s dad liked it since he’s a hard-core chocolate lover. I stuck to my Marie Antoinette tea- delicious.
We took a girl’s trip to Giverny to see Monet’s gardens. This is where Monet painted his famous Water Lillies, most of which are housed at the Musee de l’Orangerie. It was so cool to visit the gardens and then see his paintings first-hand!
I loved spending time with Trinity, my sister-in-law. We always bond by making fun of Trenton-muahaha.
On our final day, Trenton and I popped over to Disneyland Paris. You simply can’t go all the way to Paris and not see Sleeping Beauty’s Castle! It’s the prettiest Disney castle of all, in my opinion. Not to mention they have amazing sandwiches and the tickets are half the price of Orlando.
We went to Paris for the first time back in 2015 (check it out here, my photography has come a long way since then!) That was our first time going over seas together, and the city holds a special, magical place in our hearts. You know when you’re a kid and you wake up on Christmas morning full of excitement? That’s how I feel each morning when I wake up in Paris.
What I love about the city is that it’s like an onion, the more time you spend there the more you can peel back layer after layer. There’s so much to see, and so much history to learn. The first time we went, we didn’t visit any museums, so this time we took the time to explore a few of them. We also visited the Parisian catacombs, the Eiffel Tower, ofcourse, various gardens decked out in fall colors, and many cathedrals that had me teary eyed as I gazed up at the intricate stained-glass colors and designs.
I already want to go back. There is still a few museums I have yet to explore, and I’d love to check out Normandy and a few of the surrounding cities. One day I hope I can live in Paris- even if it’s just for a few months! There is plenty of Chinese people around, so I wouldn’t have trouble meeting fellow Mandarin speakers.
Overall, Paris is one of the most inspiring places in the world. Learning about famous painters and their insane work ethics has inspired me to work harder in my own line of work and to be more creative as well.
Have you ever been to Paris? If not, you simply must put it on your bucket list!
