Now that fall is winding down and winter will be here in a matter of days, I can’t help but want to refresh my winter wardrobe! Last year when I lived in North Carolina, the weather was much colder than I had anticipated. Coming from South Florida, I didn’t have hardly any winter clothes at all! So I purchased a few sweaters here and there, and was freezing for much of the season. I pretty much wore my regular year-round clothes and layered like crazy. It was so impractical, and I remember shivering non stop in my classroom where I taught, freezing during carpool, and going numb during recess time.
Needless to say, this year I wasn’t about to let myself go cold. One of the biggest reasons I didn’t updated my wardrobe last year is because I am so cheap! I like my clothes to be good quality and last a long time. However, these type of clothes often come with a hefty price tag, so I can’t just go splurging every time I go to the store.
So I decided to pop over to ThredUp to see what clothes they had listed. ThredUp is an online thrift store with clothes, shoes, and accessories. I shopped there when planning for my trip to Hawaii and found the cutest dress (wore it here).
To my fortune, ThredUp had hundreds of winter pieces from my favorite brands! So I snagged this striped sweater and this black coat.
Here is the price I paid for the clothes, and the price they are originally.
Originally: $98
ThredUp price: $14
Originally: $228
Paid: $23
I literally saved hundreds of dollars by using this website. And the clothes were in perfect condition. I get compliments on both of these pieces every time I wear them! I am officially hooked on ThredUp.
If you’re looking for winter clothes and you’re on a budget, or even if you have a large budget but you want to be wise with your finances, this is the way to go. And don’t feel overwhelmed when you see the thousands of clothes listed; simply plug in your size and your favorite brands, and start looking!
From now until February, use code COURTNEYLIVIN on your purchase for 50% off all first-time orders up to $50 for the first 50 users. You really can’t beat that!
Happy shopping! xx

I definitely rely on Thrift for my clothing. I always say that if I’m going to buy thrift, it better be a good quality name brand as otherwise if just buy new.

I totally agree. Thrifting is only worth it if it’s a name brand!
