Last week, Trenton and I drove down to Miami for a mini vacation. He was officiating a wedding on a cruise ship, so we decided to stay in South Beach for a few nights. Instead of staying next to the cruise port, we decided to book a boutique hotel that was only a block from the beach. (And less than $60 a night!) We started off our trip by checking into our hotel, then headed to the rehearsal dinner. After that, we went back to South Beach in search of an ice cream parlor. Sadly, after walking up and down the main strip and several streets, we never found any ice cream shops. South Beach seems to be more of a party scene rather than a stroll-on-the-beach-get-ice-cream type of place. We eventually did find a gelato shop- one that I’m not going to recommend haha. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel then went to the wedding- which meant first going through customs to get on the ship. Once we got onboard, we headed straight for the buffet. Since we were the first ones onboard, we were the first ones to the food- so we ate with some friends before heading down to the Plaza where the wedding was held. Trenton did a really great job- and the bride and groom both looked happy and so in love. It was a beautiful wedding and so much fun. I’ll take any excuse to dance and have a drink with my love- especially when it’s on a ship with beautiful views of the ocean and Miami skyline. On our final day, we went to the beach then headed back home. I wanted to show you all this Heidi Klein Nautical One Piece that I wore on the beach. It’s white and navy striped, and has a gold zipper on the front. It’s feminine, modest, and oh so comfy. This is the kind of swimsuit that lasts season after season. I have been wearing it all summer, and I plan on taking it with me when I move to East Asia (more about my move coming soon!). It’s a classy suit, and every time I wear it everyone- both friends and strangers- ask me wear I got it from. Heidi Klein is my all time favorite swimwear brand- it’s very high quality and fits like a glove. I also love the back of this suit because there’s no need to worry about the top coming untied. It’s both sporty and impeccably cut.
I paired the suit with my new Maui Jim Melika sunglasses in Pink Tortoise to complete the look.
You can find the swimsuit links below, along with the bikini version, the rash guard, and another one of my Heidi Klein favorites, the white bikini.
The swimsuits are double lined so you don’t have to worry about anything showing through the white. I wore a size XS, and I recommend putting sunscreen on before you put your suit on to keep the white bold and crisp.
