This past June, Carnival hosted me and Trenton for a week on board their newest ship, the Carnival Vista. The ship, the food, our room, and the ports were absolutely incredible. Below I’ve shared with you a few of the highlights from our trip.
Windy day on deck with my sis in law, Trinity! Trenton’s family decided to come with us on this cruise to make it a family vacation! Cousins, uncles, aunts, and parent in laws 🙂
We loved coming in after long days at the ports to fresh fruit or truffles and towel animals.
The brunch in the main dining room was always my favorite!
We had two elegant nights on our cruise. This was my first elegant look of the week, and you can find my second look here.
We visited Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Ochos Rios Jamaica. Below are pictures from the three countries. In Grand Cayman we took a boat to stingray city, in Jamaica we went tubing and climbed Dunn’s River Falls, and in Cozumel we went to Chankanaab National Park. Read more about my super weird experience in Chankanaab here.
Alright faithful readers, who can tell me what this fire in Chankanaab is all about?! If you don’t know what I’m referring to, find out here.
And this little Mayan man?!
The Carnival Warm Chocolate Melting Cake was to die for. It is available every night and was my favorite! Pro tip: always order it with two scoops of ice cream instead of just one 😉
Room service is definitely a must.
These two pictures above were taken at Fahrenheit 555. While the main dining room is delicious, the food at the onboard steakhouse was superb! The steaks are huge and juicy, and your meal comes with three courses. It was nice to have a date night on board the ship!
I loved all the hot tubs on board. This was taken in the “Serenity” area- an adult-only area with cozy lounge chairs, hot tubs, and amazing views. See more of this look here.
Messy hair, don’t care! We stayed in a spa room with a balcony. This allowed us access to special saunas and a sea salt jacuzzi (as seen above). Our balcony was on the very top deck, and we had the most gorgeous views outside our window. I loved stepping out on my balcony every morning to a new scenic view. Every island looks so different.
Overall, the food was incredible and far exceeded my expectations. Having cruised on Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Disney before, I had always thought Carnival was “lower class”. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth! The food was better than any other ships I have sailed on. Our housekeeping service was amazing, and our cleaner, Jose, even gave me a spa gift card! I was able to enjoy a facial and a manicure, compliments of Carnival.
The ports offered so much- from leisure to adventure, and Carnival made it so easy to disembark each day. On board, there is so much food offered, from the Lido buffet, to the burrito bar, and the main dining room, which offered breakfast, brunch, and tea time during the day. I also loved the 24/7 pizza buffet! (Can you tell how big of a priority food was for me?! haha!)
This was a vacation to remember, and I’m so glad I got to share these memories with my family and my hubby. The activities and amenities are endless, so there was never a dull moment! I didn’t post too many pictures of the ship- because I want you to see it for yourself. If you’re deciding about whether or not to book a Carnival cruise, don’t hesitate- I promise you will love it!
Thanks to Carnival for hosting me onboard the Carnival Vista. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
Next stop: Hawaii! (and maybe a few other beachy places before then 😉

To answer your question, I have never been on a cruise before and I have always wondered which type of cruise to pick from: Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, etc. I will keep researching until I make my decision, but your pictures and insight have definitely helped!!

I did a Carnival cruise last summer, but this looks way nicer than the ship I was on. I totally agree that the chocolate melting cake is to die for. I had it for dinner every night (along with just about everything else on the menu lol).
