A Review Of My Week On Board The Carnival Vista

This past June, Carnival hosted me and Trenton for a week on board their newest ship, the Carnival Vista. The ship, the food, our room, and the ports were absolutely incredible. Below I’ve shared with you a few of the highlights from our trip.

Windy day on deck with my sis in law, Trinity! Trenton’s family decided to come with us on this cruise to make it a family vacation! Cousins, uncles, aunts, and parent in laws 🙂

We loved coming in after long days at the ports to fresh fruit or truffles and towel animals.

The brunch in the main dining room was always my favorite!

We had two elegant nights on our cruise. This was my first elegant look of the week, and you can find my second look here.

We visited Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Ochos Rios Jamaica. Below are pictures from the three countries. In Grand Cayman we took a boat to stingray city, in Jamaica we went tubing and climbed Dunn’s River Falls, and in Cozumel we went to Chankanaab National Park. Read more about my super weird experience in Chankanaab here.

Alright faithful readers, who can tell me what this fire in Chankanaab is all about?! If you don’t know what I’m referring to, find out here.

The Carnival Warm Chocolate Melting Cake was to die for. It is available every night and was my favorite! Pro tip: always order it with two scoops of ice cream instead of just one 😉

Room service is definitely a must.

These two pictures above were taken at Fahrenheit 555. While the main dining room is delicious, the food at the onboard steakhouse was superb! The steaks are huge and juicy, and your meal comes with three courses. It was nice to have a date night on board the ship!

I loved all the hot tubs on board. This was taken in the “Serenity” area- an adult-only area with cozy lounge chairs, hot tubs, and amazing views. See more of this look here.

Messy hair, don’t care! We stayed in a spa room with a balcony. This allowed us access to special saunas and a sea salt jacuzzi (as seen above). Our balcony was on the very top deck, and we had the most gorgeous views outside our window. I loved stepping out on my balcony every morning to a new scenic view. Every island looks so different.

Overall, the food was incredible and far exceeded my expectations. Having cruised on Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Disney before, I had always thought Carnival was “lower class”. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth! The food was better than any other ships I have sailed on. Our housekeeping service was amazing, and our cleaner, Jose, even gave me a spa gift card! I was able to enjoy a facial and a manicure, compliments of Carnival.

The ports offered so much- from leisure to adventure, and Carnival made it so easy to disembark each day. On board, there is so much food offered, from the Lido buffet, to the burrito bar, and the main dining room, which offered breakfast, brunch, and tea time during the day. I also loved the 24/7 pizza buffet! (Can you tell how big of a priority food was for me?! haha!)

This was a vacation to remember, and I’m so glad I got to share these memories with my family and my hubby. The activities and amenities are endless, so there was never a dull moment! I didn’t post too many pictures of the ship- because I want you to see it for yourself. If you’re deciding about whether or not to book a Carnival cruise, don’t hesitate- I promise you will love it!

Thanks to Carnival for hosting me onboard the Carnival Vista. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Next stop: Hawaii! (and maybe a few other beachy places before then 😉

  1. We visited some of the same places on our family’s Royal Caribbean cruise about 10 years ago and Grand Cayman was one of my favorites (second to Jamaica)! Also, my boyfriend has the same fishbone swim shorts haha lovely photos and a great review- glad you all enjoyed your time xoxo

          1. Yes but have not been to Mauna Kea yet, so if you go there do take some pictures. Big island is really beautiful and they have colorful sand beaches -green and black.

  2. So glad you had a great time! I have been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean and I have to agree… Carnival has the best food by far (very important for me also! haha) Beautiful pictures!

  3. Cruise ships seem soooo fun! I have never gone but want to, at least once in my life. They have hot tubs on board?! That’s pretty crazy. Although I’ve heard cruise ships having straight up amusement parks on the boat. It’s so unreal to me!

  4. What an amazing adventure and vacation! Sounds simply superb! And all that food looks/sounds amazing! I’ve always wanted to take a cruise… I probably should! I definitely would want to get a higher room with a balcony. I can only imagine how wonderful the sights would be 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing all of this! ❤

    1. I’ve met plenty of people on cruises who cruise alone! They will place you at a dinner table with a bunch of other solo cruisers so you can meet people and go on excursions together! And they have singles get togethers and such in the evenings. You should give it a try- I think Carnival cruises out of California so wouldn’t be too far!

  5. I have never thought to look into cruises! This looked like so much fun!! Don’t get mad but I always thought they were for an older generation…..
Did it feel like you where on a boat? Like heavy sea movements or anything like that?
Love how you docked and could go around on shore!!!
Will be looking into this for sure 🙂

    1. Haha not mad- some of the cruise lines such as Holland America are for older people and the ship is tailored for them. But lines such as Carnival are mostly young people and families! They have a water park, dance parties, and entertainment mostly for younger people! Just depends on the line really.
And you couldn’t tell you were on a boat- I think I felt it rock a bit once during dinner but it’s like a slight movement haha. I definitely recommend giving it a try at least once!!

  7. Looks like a fantastic trip and now I’m hungry haha!! You two are so sweet! I have been on a cruise one time long ago when I was 8 y/o. I believe it was Carnival but we were in a huge hurricane! It was a great time but also a little intense with the weather. Great post love x

  8. I will have to check out Carnival next time that I decide to go on a cruise. Great to see you had an amazing time! I have to ask for two scoops of ice cream for dessert now. That will be way easier to share dessert haha.
