When it comes to rocking a boyfriend top, there are three simple rules you simply must adhere to.

1. Wear them with leggings. Tights or leggings are a must when it comes to wearing a boyfriend top. They show off your curves and give a feminine appeal to the entire look. If your headed to work, try tucking the top into your favorite pencil skirt for a professional look.

2. Up play your makeup. When wearing an oversized button down shirt, we need to make sure our features pop so we don’t appear swallowed up! Use a berry color lip stick such as this Clinique Berry Pop Lip Colour to make sure your look stands out.

3. Wear a necklace (or three!). Throwing on a layered or long necklace completes the look. It draws attention to your collar bone and adds detail.

I love wearing boyfriend tops on date nights! They are my go-to outfits because they’re comfy and low-key but still look hot. I wore this style on a date to downtown Raleigh, where we ate Carolina BBQ at The Pit and had coffee afterwards. 🙂
